Huge congratulations go to our very own Cathy Brown, Director of Governance, who received the award for Governance Professional of the Year at the MAT Excellence Awards. She thoroughly deserves the recognition for all she does for the sector and for TMET. Her influence goes well beyond governance, and she is a valued member of the Trust’s leadership team.

The award said that: “Cathy demonstrated incredibly strong leadership and sector-wide impact. She single-handedly created and embedded the governance infrastructure during the trust’s growth from two to 13 schools. She is described as integral to the smooth running and leadership of the trust.”

Tony Glover, TMET Chair of Trustees said: “I know of no one in such a role with Cathy’s energy, dedication, knowledge and wisdom. One of the strengths of TMET, as acknowledged by successive Ofsted inspections and other external reviews, has been the effective co-ordination between the Board, the Executive, local governance and school leadership. Cathy has been instrumental in achieving this.”

At the same award ceremony, TMET was also a finalist in the category of Community Trust of the Year, for the huge range of support and resources that Mead schools provide to their families and communities, especially those struggling with the cost of living.
